What should be the minimum age for someone entering the sport?  Kiteboarding is getting easier then ever before with improvements in equipment and teaching methods.

Kids are generally fast learners but are physically and emotionally different than adults so the adult styled training path is not suitable for kids and may turn many kids away from the sport. There is now a specialized teaching program just for kids. The program developed by Kiteboarding Master Instructor David Dorn, has been designed specifically for kids. This program has been thoroughly tested and developed over time and this specialty training course has now become the teaching standard for the majority of certified Instructors teaching worldwide. The minimum age that a basic kiteboarding instructor may teach is 12 years old. However with the new training courses qualified instructors can train younger students. Parents can be assured that certified instructors who have the “teaching to kids” qualification have the best training to teach Kids available. Qualified Instructors will automatically have their “teaching to kids, qualification listed on their Public Instructor Profiles. Only suitably qualified instructors should teach children under 12. Please confirm your instructor’s qualifications by reviewing their professional profiles.
